Description: SmartSuite Millennium Edition 9.6 is the latest edition of the Lotus office suite. Major feature enhancements include a customized installation, using the Microsoft 2000 Installer with InstallShield, and file filters that exchange documents with other office suites.

The family of desktop products included in this package are 1-2-3 (an electronic spreadsheet), Approach (a relational database), Freelance Graphics (a graphics presentation program), Organizer (a desktop organizer with calendar and scheduling features), ScreenCam Multimedia (a show-and-tell teaching and communications tool with screen recording and playback features), WordPro (a team word processor), FastSite (an intranet and Internet document publisher), IBM ViaVoice (a voice recognition system integrated with WordPro and 1-2-3), and Lotus SmartCenter Internet Information Manager (an information manager that gives you one-click access to Web-based data).

System requirements: IBM PC or compatible (486/66 or higher processor), VGA adapter and monitor; CD-ROM drive; a mouse or other pointing device. Works with Microsoft Windows 95/98, Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000 with 16MB RAM for Windows 95/98; 48MB RAM for Windows NT; 64MB RAM recommended for Windows 2000. 268 MB for a typical installation of SmartSuite. 

Knowledge requirements: Participants should be familiar with basic microcomputer concepts as well as keyboard and mouse operation. Working knowledge of Windows 95/98 is recommended.

Product description: Created with the end user, rather than the webmaster in mind, Lotus FastSite provides a quick and easy way for non-technical users to contribute information to an Internet, intranet or extranet site. FastSite enables users to easily convert groups of files, or different file types, into Web pages. FastSite then instantly builds a complete site with a consistent look, hyperlinks, and navigation buttons. Users can also integrate files with Microsoft FrontPage, and build their site with Web SmartMasters. With just one click of a button, FastSite converts existing files from different desktop applications into a Web site. No prior Web knowledge is required to create a Web site with FastSite because it provides customizable Web SmartMasters that automatically generate consistent background looks and basic Web site navigation across the site. Lotus FastSite converts documents from over 20 different file formats, including Microsoft Word, SmartSuite and Corel WordPerfect.

System requirements: An IBM PC, or compatible running Windows 95, 98, or NT 4.0, a VGA 256-color adapter or higher, a mouse or other pointing device, and a CD-ROM drive. Users will also need 10MB of available disk space, 16MB of RAM, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02, or higher. In addition, users can view FastSite sites within any Web browser including Netscape Navigator. To view documents published via jDoc, users will also need a Java-enabled browser.  

Knowledge requirements: Windows 95 Fundamentals, Windows 98 Fundamentals, or equivalent experience. Familiarity With a keyboard and the use of a mouse. (No prior Web knowledge is required.)
